The music in the sixties went through major transitions as the sixties progressed. At the onset of the decade, most music was about love and happiness featuring acoustic guitar and vocals. As the sixties went on, music turned more somber and abstract as drugs and heartbreak wove their way into the musicians' styles. The electric guitar was also starting to become more prominent with vocals and back up vocals remaining popular.
Do you think that these changes in the music were the result of changes in the society? Were musicians doing drugs and leading society through their songs, or were they doing drugs because that's what society was doing too? (who was peer pressuring whom here?)
